What is dark lip neutralisation?
Dark Lip Neutralisation is the process of adding warmer tones to cool or dark-toned lips. This creates natural, even, and subtle colour once healed. Specialist pigments are chosen to create the correct colour palette for our clients lip undertones and skin tone. This is especially important during the first treatment before we add more of the clients target colour during the top up. Some clients may require additional treatments to achieve desired results. This technique additionally defines the outlines of the lips for a fuller and more symmetrical appearance.
HD or Sheer effect?
HD effect is a full coverage lipstick effect. This result enables us to fully saturate the lips with pigment, leaving a longer lasting, defined and full coverage result! Sheer is a subtle and natural effect. This technique provides a wash of colour over the lips leaving a soft and borderless finish once healed. This effect is best for those who prefer a natural look. Please get in touch if you’re unsure which type of lip blush you’d prefer. We’ll be very happy to offer our guidance!
Can you colour match my favourite lipstick?
Yes, absolutely! Specialist pigments are chosen to create the correct colour palette for our clients lip undertones and skin tone. We have a huge range of pigments to choose from which can be mixed to create a tailored colour mix for each client. If there is a specific lipstick shade you’d like to achieve, we’ll be happy to take a look and see if this is possible for you! Please remember, lip undertones and skin tone can play a part in your end result! When colour matching a lipstick, we will try to create a perfect match, however, everyone absorbs pigment differently, therefore, no two results are the same and healed results may vary slightly! Results will typically look 40-50% brighter immediately after treatment.
Can I have lip filler before/after
Yes, absolutely! Lip blush and lip filler together can create a perfect combo! If you’ve recently had a lip filler treatment, you must wait at least one month before having lip blush.
How is it done?
This technique is created with a tattoo machine similarly to a traditional tattoo, however pixelated dots are tattooed into the epidermis to create a semi permanent pixelated effect. These small dots allow colour to gradually build up to reveal a more natural looking result.
Will my lips swell?
Some clients swell more than others, whilst some don’t swell at all! Swelling is only a temporary side effect and usually goes down by the next morning! For some clients, this can sometimes last up to 48 hours.
Durability
This technique can typically last anywhere from 1 to 3 years. The retention will depend on a number of factors, such as lifestyle, skin type, sun exposure, health conditions, medications etc. A colour boost is recommended every 12-18 months to enhance the colour.
Who is a good candidate for this technique?
This technique is great for any skin type.
Pain & discomfort
Pain is relative, however the procedure itself shouldn’t be painful. During the procedure, an ointment can be applied to help minimise pain and discomfort.
Will I need a patch test?
Yes. All clients will be required to complete a patch test at least 48 hours before their treatment.
Will I need a top up?
Yes absolutely! The treatment is conducted in two parts, the initial treatment and the top up. Without the top up the area may appear patchy and unfinished. The 8 week top up is included in the initial treatment price. Top ups outside of this timeframe are chargeable. The top up cannot be performed earlier than 8 weeks after the initial treatment as we need to wait for the area to fully heal before making any adjustments. Some individuals may require further top ups due to lifestyle, skin type, poor aftercare and other factors. We are not responsible for poor pigment retention or poor aftercare and these actions will result in needing further top ups. Additional top ups are not included in the price of the treatment and are chargeable.
What are the risks?
If you find a highly skilled and knowledgeable practitioner who is aware of your skin type and medical history, then having any type of semi-permanent makeup treatment should be a safe process. You should always do your research and choose the right practitioner for your needs.
Corrections
There is no definitive answer as to whether we can offer a cover up as this is dependent on the shape, colour and positioning of the previous work. If you have badly-performed semi-permanent makeup, you may need to opt for a removal procedure first. Please contact us to arrange a consultation.
